PVPAL, the Master Owners’ Association for Playa Vista, urges you to encourage the LA City Council to immediately address the unsafe and unsanitary conditions created by those living in their RVs throughout the Playa Vista area. For information on the problem and the proposed ordinance, click here.

It is time for the City to adopt a common-sense ordinance like the one proposed by Councilmember Traci Park which would prohibit oversized vehicle dwellings (RVs) near sensitive areas like Playa Vista schools, parks, and residences, while providing services, safety and sanitation for RV residents in appropriate locations where they can have access to critical services and to live in a safe environment that meets their specific needs..

Submit your comment directly to the City Council via the city’s website. Simply click on this link, complete the form and click “submit.” Feel free to use some of the talking points below. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP!

  • RV encampments have been the source of numerous fires as the unhoused use grills and open fires to cook outside their RVs.

  • The City must designate streets outside of Playa Vista where oversize vehicle dwellings can park with access to services, including housing, navigation, portable restroom facilities, automotive repair and septic tank waste disposal.

  • Nothing the City has done so far has worked to address this issue

Talking Points …

  • It is unsafe and unsanitary to allow people to live in RVs near schools, parks and commercial corridors without waste disposal and other services

  • Without this ordinance, the city has no power to move these RVs

  • It is critical to protect our neighborhoods

  • We need to do better for the unhoused

ABOVE ALL …

  • Share your personal experiences and your feelings about the RV situation – let the City Council know how this impacts your life and the lives of your friends, neighbors and family

“The scale of vehicular homelessness crisis and the unsafe and unsanitary conditions this problem has created for those living in and around these encampments demand immediate action.”
